The Asia Plastics Processing Technology andInnovative Materials Summit staged a successful comeback in Jakarta on September 6-7.
The second edition proved to be another major gathering of industry professionals who listened to technical presentations by well-known experts in the areas of injection moulding, process cooling, automation, packaging design, high performance materials, bio plastics, waste management and recycling.
Organised by Ringier Events, the Asia Plastics Processing Technology and Innovative Materials Summit aims to present the latest developments and future trends in the application of plastics for Indonesia’s fast rising sectors such as automotive, packaging, consumer electronics and infrastructure. With the Indonesian government’s pronouncement of implementing the “Making Indonesia 4.0” road map to bring major innovations, many more manufacturing industries are being encouraged to look beyond traditional technologies and start utilising advanced production processes.
“Making Indonesia 4.0” identified several priority sectors that include food and drinks, automotive, electronics, and chemicals, among others. As Industry 4.0 is supported by five technological advances: Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), human-machine interface, robot and sensor technology, and 3D printing, many industries in Indonesia are now willing to put in place the latest technologies to enhance their production processes. With the government providing necessary incentives and infrastructure to drive growth in these sectors, opportunities are being opened thus pushing demand for innovative plastics technologies and materials.
