The Bees have come a long way since I first saw them live this season against Wycombe in the Carabao Cup first round in September. They needed a penalty shoot-out to get through, in contrast to the seven-goal mauling they dished out to the Chairboys last weekend.
I also caught them in late December against Newcastle in the quarter-finals of the same competition. They were much improved with Josh Dasilva the best player on the pitch in a commanding performance.
Dominant
Against Bristol City in midweek, they had to make do without Dasilva but still notched up that 19th unbeaten match. The 3-2 scoreline didn’t quite reflect the game, with Thomas Frank’s team utterly dominant in the second half.
The Bees fell behind to a tap-in from Zak Vyner following a hotly debated freekick which seemed very harsh on right-back Henrik Dalsgaard, though drew level through Sergi Canos, and at half-time, the game was fairly even, a little like it was against Wycombe last weekend.
