Max Factor Leaves Matt All Made Up

MATT Taylor praised goal-keeper Jonny Maxted as his in-form Exeter City side made it three wins in three league games with victory over Salford City.

Maxted made a series of superb saves as Exeter stayed second in League Two courtesy of Ryan Bowman’s first-half strike.

The stopper, a summer signing from Accrington Stanley, has had to bide his time behind usual first-choice keeper Lewis Ward.

Manager Taylor said: “Jonny’s been a lot more consistent recently. Football is based on confidence and we know he is a good goalkeeper who has proved his worth with this performance.

“Salford tried to hurt us, but Jonny was there to help out.

“He really stood up and it is a big result for us. I don’t think we were at our best by any means and we looked a bit jaded at times.
