ROONEY FURIOUS AT REF PEN ‘MISS'

DERBY boss Wayne Roo-ney slammed some “unacceptable” refereeing after a damaging defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

Tom Lawrence’s second of the season gave Derby a lead they looked set to build on, before Sam Gallagher’s header levelled before the break.

Harvey Elliott marked his 50th senior appearance by firing the winner midway through the second half to deal a blow to the Rams, who remain positioned just above the drop zone, four points ahead of Rotherham having played three more.

It’s now one win in 11 and Rooney called on referees’ chief Alan Wiley to take action after referee Steve Martin missed a “clear” penalty for a challenge on sub Louis Watson at the death.

He said: “I’ve seen the replay and it’s the most clear penalty you could ever see. The referee’s got a great view of it, and it’s completely unacceptable, to not give a penalty.
