NEWPORT County managerMike Flynn believes hisside laid the foundation for a bright future despite Harry Kane’s last-ditch equaliser.
The England striker denied Newport a famous triumph with an 84th-minute leveller after Padraig Amond had headed the Exiles ahead.
And Flynn reckons their thrilling draw can open a new chapter in the club’s history.
He said: “They gave me their all, fantastic group and I don’t just say it, they give me their all day in day out.
“I’m gutted for them as they scored so late, they’ve made me the proudest manager in the country right now.
“It’s huge, it can make a real difference for clubs in the lower leagues. It doesn’t just keep you ticking over.
“We turnover £2.2m a year as a football club but this run will give us in excess of £700,000.
“It allows us to lay foundations for the future. We have a good group of people running the club and I trust they’ll spend it well.”
