Tim aims to bring pride back to Barnet

BEES ARE SAYING IT WITH FLOWERS

SPORT science and matching kit – those are just two items at the top of the agenda for busy new Barnet boss Tim Flowers.

The former Solihull Moors manager and England goalkeeper has taken over at the Bees from Peter Beadle after he was axed following their 6-0 defeat at Chesterfield last weekend.

It has left them languishing fourth from bottom with nine points from 13 games and in danger of becoming embroiled in an unthinkable relegation battle to the second tier where they haven’t been since their Southern League days of the 1970s and 60s.

Flowers, appointed on Monday, took charge of his first session on Thursday after a hectic start assessing what’s in place and what is needed at the National League club.

“This is an EFL setup all day long,” he told The NLP. “You’ve got half a dozen or more quality training pitches all available to the club, a lovely stadium, a decent fanbase.

“On the football side, when I scratch the surface there’s a lot needing to be done. We’ve identified sport science straight away, there’s nothing really in place.
