Shan proud of his beaten Moors

JIMMY Shan pointed to an enforced two-week squad self-isolation, due to the coronavirus, for his Solihull Moors side’s defeat at Morecambe.

Moors surrendered a halftime lead given to them by giant striker Kyle Hudlin in the 19th minute and, in a dominant first half, they had two further efforts cleared off the line by Yann Song’o, before League Two Morecambe hit back after the break.

Two goals from Cole Stockton in a six-minute period put Morecambe ahead, but Jordan Cranston levelled to take the match to extra-time, only to fall behind again via John O’Sullivan, before Mitch Hancox’s own goal sealed Moors’ fate.

Boss Shan said: “The lads did me proud, particularly after the lay-off recently.

“We couldn’t prepare as we would have liked obviously and it was always going to be a difficult task for us physically. I think you could see the effect that had on us as the game wore on.
