BILLY KNOTT is determined to prove people wrong and make a return to the professional game after being released by Chelmsford City.
The 27-year-old has played over 150 times in the Football League and even made an appearance in the Premier League for Sunderland in 2013 – but is now looking for a new club.
The left-footed, attacking midfielder enjoyed some of his best football in League One with Bradford City, the highest moment coming when they beat Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup fourth round.
But Knott has openly discussed how his battle with alcoholism and depression during his second season at the Bantams in 2015, when first-team opportunities became limited, hindered his career and as a result saw him slip down the divisions, returning to his home town Canvey Island in 2018 and signing for Concord Rangers.
