TIM FLOWERS hailed Solihull Moors’ first-half performance as the best 45 minutes in his time at the club – but admitted they also had the rub of the green before sealing a sixth home league win in a row.

Moors were unstoppable early on as they raced to a 3-0 lead inside 26 minutes, courtesy of goals from Danny Wright, Paul McCallum and Callum Howe.

But Ryan Croasdale pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time and Jim Bentley’s Coasters conjured chance after chance, without taking them, as they pressed and pressed in the second period.

Victory, however, avenged Moors’ defeat to Fylde in the play-offs last term and ended their hoodoo against the Lancashire team.

“That was a big result for us,” said manager Flowers. “We had never beaten Fylde since we’ve been in the National League and it was something I had pointed out to the players in midweek.
