SINCE he was last in NonLeague, James Vincent has played in some of Scotland’s biggest stadiums, helped Inverness Caledonian Thistle qualify for Europe and scored the winner in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park.
He also began a family with wife Nikki that has grown to three children, Bella, 6, Zara, 4, and two-year-old son Oliver.
But now the 31-year-old is back south of the border having signed for former Kidderminster Harriers team-mate Josh Gowling at Hereford United.
And he’s looking forward to the next chapter of his career under someone he knows well.
“Fortunate enough for me, having that insight and seeing Josh as a player, I know the standards he sets,” Vincent told The NLP.
“Speaking to him on the phone now he’s a manager, I know it’s not just talk for talk’s sake, he walks the walk.
“It was good to hear his ideas and how he wants to push the club forward. It is different, a lot of it is stuff I haven’t worked on with other managers so it’s refreshing. Even in the pre-season games we’ve played so far you can see there is real progression.”
