Classy Conor Takes His Cue To Strangle Ealing

MUNSTER A reached the British and Irish Cup final with an emphatic victory over the in-form Ealing Trailfinders.

Peter Malone’s side put in a classic Munster-style performance that featured rock-solid defence, fierce line-speed and the ability to take their chances when they arose.

They also had the match’s outstanding individual in Conor Oliver. The open side was a constant thorn in Ealing’s ambitions, and was a fine link between attack and defence and scored two tries.

Their win came with one unfortunate caveat. Ireland U20s fly-half Billy Johnson went down after 30 minutes with a dislocated ankle and fractured tibia.

It was a great shame for the 19-year-old who has already suffered a number of injuries in his nascent career and who was enjoying a fine match in which his use of the ball and attacking darts gave his side control of the match and which had fans in red purring at the player they have already anointed as the next Ronan O’Gara.
