The Crown? It's Just Awful, Says Joanna

Prince Charles’s friend Joanna Lumley has blasted The Crown as “awful” – and says she pities the “poor actors” on the show.

The Absolutely Fabulous star, 75, thinks it’s bonkers conversations are made up for the hit series, which has starred Oscar winner Olivia Colman and nominee Helena Bonham Carter.

But Joanna, who attended Charles’s 2005 wedding to Camilla, said of the Royals: “I don’t think they watch it and I never watch it. I know them, so I know it’s all made up and it’s rubbish.

“All the poor actors who are doing their best to copy them, it’s awful.

“Imagine somebody making up conversations they think you’ve had. It’s so laughable.”
