Tory MPs Back Deal After Rishi Warns: Don't Put Brexit At Risk

TORY backbenchers backed Rishi Sunak's Brexit deal after he warned that failing to do so would open the door to Labour and put Brexit at risk.

The PM told the 1922 Committee that voters had had enough of "drama" and wanted the issue resolved so ministers can focus on other issues.

Otherwise they "will begin to doubt our ability to deliver not just on this issue but everything else too," he said.

The European Research Group of Tory MPs, who are analysing the agreement line by line, met last night to discuss if the pact is good enough.

Tory MP David Jones said: "It's going to take a week or two because it's a complicated deal."

The PM is also waiting for the verdict of Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, leader of the DUP.
