Judge backs both in libel battle

Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney claimed partial victories yesterday in their High Court libel battle.

A judge threw out parts of Coleen’s defence while denying Rebekah’s bid for a summary judgment, which would have meant part of the case would be resolved without a trial.

Coleen, 35, had accused Rebekah, 39, of leaking “false stories” in October 2019 after carrying out a “sting operation” which led to her being dubbed Wagatha Christie.
