Sturgeon On 'Levelling Up Cash.. Rehashed Money Rehashed News.. It's Desperation

Nicola Sturgeon has blasted the Tory Government's attempts at levelling up as rehashed money.

The First Minister hit out after Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove outlined plans for 12 “national missions”, including improving public transport, 5G connectivity and life expectancy - to be enshrined in law.

Sturgeon claimed it was an attempt to divert attention from Boris Johnson's woes in Downing Street in the wake of the Partygate scandal.

She said: “It's rehashed money, it's rehashed announcements.

“It's a pretty desperate attempt by a beleaguered Westminster Government and an utterly discredited Prime Minister to try and divert people's attention.

“I think it might take more than that to succeed.”

An announcement made ahead of the publication of the document would bring together the heads of the devolved administrations to work as they did in the same way during the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine.
