World darts champion John “Boy” Walton has swapped bullseyes for busy aisles – and revealed: “It’s a complete 180, but I love it.”

The former oche ace, 58, has been working at his local Co-op.

And the 2001 BDO world champ is making home deliveries for £9 an hour.

The dad-of-five’s new life away from the sport was revealed on Twitter by BBC host Dan Walker, who stopped him to ask where the ice cream cones were.

Walton said: “We looked at each other, we both recognised each other – it was quite surreal.
