The campaigners split their action across two sides of the capital this morning, with some sitting on at the A40 junction with Gypsy Corner in North Acton and others targeting a roundabout next to the Dartford Crossing.
It was the latest in a string of climate protests ahead of next week’s COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
One motorist in North Acton threw blue ink in the faces of some of the campaigners. One of those covered, Christian, a 77-year-old retired doctor, said: “It wasn’t painful, it didn’t hurt — it was unpleasant, but just sad, the whole thing’s sad, it’s sad that we have to do this.
