Josh Warrington is desperate to beat Kiko Martinez in Saturday’s rematch and end his long wait to experience that winning feeling again.

Warrington aims to become a two-time world champion against IBF featherweight king Martinez at the First Direct Arena in Leeds but has not tasted victory since October 2019.

He lost to Mauricio Lara in February 2021 and was held to a draw in their rematch last September.

The 31-year-old has found those setbacks hard to take after winning 30 fights during a 10-year victory run. “It’s certainly crossed my mind, the thought I’ve not won for nearly two-and-a-half years,” the former IBF champ said.

“I know what’s it like to wake up on a Sunday morning and have that winning feeling.
