Fruity power: Sun protector

There's no substitute for making sure you use sun cream, but it couldn't hurt to tuck into the odd bunch of grapes too when the mercury soars. Researchers in the US found that people who ate three-quarters of a punnet daily for two weeks were better protected against UV skin damage.

Bananas

Warm weather can stop us getting a good night's kip. But bananas are packed with potassium and magnesium to help reduce blood pressure and relax your muscles. The fruit also contains an essential amino acid called tryptophan that has been found to improve sleep quality.
