The country’s leading commercial vehicle makers Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland resumed operations at their factories on Wednesday with limited staff and enhanced safety measures after a prolonged government-enforced hiatus of nearly 50 days to control the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
Tata Motors said it has restarted its Pantnagar and Sanand plants in a calibrated manner. “We restart operations with limited, essential staff in each plant, adhering to all mandated safety norms while efficiently meeting operational requirements,” said Tata Motors CEO & MD Guenter Butschek.
