Nobody arrested for violence even as blame-game & probe continue

OVER 100 goons, most of them masked, were involved in assaulting students and vandalizing JNU property, reveals the investigation of Delhi Police. Sources said that over 100 PCR calls were made on Sunday regarding the horrific incident in which more than 30 students, teachers were injured inside the campus.

The Delhi Police on Monday registered a case against unknown people involved in violence. The violence broke out in JNU in three phases on Sunday — first at the Periyar Hostel at 4 p.m. where Left students clashed with ABVP, then at 6 p.m. at a peace march by JNUTA and violence finally escalated between 6.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The copy of FIR accessed by Mail Today shows at around 3:45 p.m. police team reached Periyar hostel where 40-50 masked hooligans were assaulting students and damaging JNU property. They dispersed after seeing the cops. The FIR highlights that it was around 7 p.m. that the police got PCR call informing that 50-60 goons were beating students and destroying property at Sabarmati hostel.
