Maxus Philip-pines wants to brighten up the usually “gloomy” August. The company recently introduced its latest MPV offering, the G50 MPV, decked out in colors only previously seen on custom rides. It was unveiled at a virtual launch earlier this week, and comes in three variants.
With their new slogan, “Max more,” and its current lineup of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) made up of the V80 van, T50 pickup, and G10 minivan, Maxus hopes to be top of mind for Filipinos when it comes to moving cargo and people.
The G50 is more than just a basic people mover. It sports a very modern design, with a spacious interior that seats eight passengers. For extra style, it rolls on 17-inch wheels with wide 215 mm tires.
Under the hood, it’s powered by a turbocharged, four-cylinder 1.5liter direct injection gasoline engine. It produces 169-Ps at 5,500rpms with 250-Nm of torque between 1,700-4,300rpms. This is mated to a seven–speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
