Giant lobster is spared for life in an aquarium

A CORNISH fishmonger has shared impressive pictures of a monster lobster weighing in at almost five kilograms - declaring him too big to eat.

Jacquie Spencer was impressed by the catch brought into Pengelly's Fishmongers, in Looe, last month, saying it was the biggest the quayside shop had ever seen.

Mrs Spencer, who is a trainee fishmonger, said she just had to save him from being eaten".

She explained: “We've got a lobster tank at the fishmongers, and so we're used to having live lobsters coming in. We obviously sell them for people to eat, but this one was huge and I just thought: 'He's too big to eat. He's either got to be released or go somewhere where he can go out and live his life"
