Why Contest In Wayanad Where BJP Is Not In Fray, Asks Pinarayi

The decision conveys a wrong message, says Kerala Chief Minister

Kerala Chief Minister and CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday questioned Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s entry into the Lok Sabha fray in Wayanad.

He was addressing a function at Ranni in Pathanamthitta.

Maintaining that Mr. Gandhi’s contest conveyed a wrong message, Mr. Vijayan wondered what point he was trying to make by contesting in a constituency where the Bharatiya Janata Party was not in the ring.

“Mr. Gandhi is condescending by stating that he will not utter a word against the CPI(M). What does he have to say against the CPI (M) or compare it with his own party.”
