Plea For Action Over Maternity Care Blunders
Haunted by tragedy, Louise and Ian Danson took no chances when the birth of their second baby Lottie was due a year ago.

They were determined she would not risk the same fate as her sister, who died during labour because of terrifying maternity ward blunders.

Louise still shudders at what happened as a Commons Health Committee report this week revealed 1,000 babies die avoidable deaths every year in England.

“Rosie wasn’t moving as much so I went to hospital to get checked out,” she said. “They weren’t concerned and sent me home. Two weeks later I went back ready for a planned induction, anxious but excited to finally meet our girl.
