Before COVID, I used to take my older daughter Ivana to the parks a lot and would meet other mothers, share a story or two, and listen to theirs. It was a great way to connect with other mothers sharing a similar JOURNEY. But in 2020, when the world was Indoors, there was no way to get that same feeling. I just felt the need to connect with other mothers. It was like standing on the balcony and shouting, “hey we’re ok, the kids are playing. Look at them jumping! How are you all?” Instagram became a way of RELIEVING that feeling of being locked in a closed environment. It was a way to connect authentically with other mothers just like those days in the park. This is also the year that my second daughter was born. And even before I started posting on Instagram, I had to first explain to Ivana why we were not going to the parks anymore? Why were we stuck at home? What do you tell a 2 year old? I wondered what other parents must be telling their kids!
It’s primarily about giving the Covid situation a positive twist so children at home can enjoy the process of being indoors and use their imaginations to feel good in spite of the situation. The response was really amazing! Parents were so happy. As for blogging, I enjoyed sharing all the candid aspects of my life with my children, from DIY activities, to celebrations at home and from book recommendations to UNFILTERED PARENTING with a dash of humour is what kept me going. A year and a half into this as an influencer mom I’ve learned so much! From working with some great children’s brands to learning about the different ways of creating content it has been such a wonderful learning experience for me.
