Top 5 Fitness Tips for Busy, Young, Parents

Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs there is. If you are finding it difficult to squeeze your work-out time into your daily schedule, you are not alone. However, don't let having children become your excuse to cut back on your exercise routine. It is important that you raise your children healthy by setting a good example. There are ways to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine by making exercise a family affair. Get fit while having fun with your children! It will be memorable and become a great bonding experience.

Tip #1: Walk whenever you can

Walks to the parks are fun. The monkey bars will provide endless play for toddlers. There is no doubt that children need copious amount of exercise. When your kids see you enjoying activity, they will follow suit.

If your child is an infant or a toddler, you can still take him or her in a stroller, to complete some errands or during a visit to the shops.

As children get older, you can walk them to/from school, which is exercise and also a good opportunity to talk and bond. Combine errands with exercise. Try walking to the neighbourhood grocery store instead of driving. You can set an example to the children that you don’t always need the car to get around. Walking is a great way to stay active. The earlier you introduce your children to it, the better. The best part is that no special equipment or gym membership fees are required for this activity. You can also download fitness apps to your smartphone and track the number of daily steps you take. It can be a great motivator.

Tip #2: Invest in a home-gym

Most of us don’t have time to spend hours at the gym each day. But that does not mean we cannot exercise.
