Ageing is inevitable. But age is just a number; we can control aging through healthy living and a positive attitude.
We sleep. And we wake up to a new day. There are times when we might not like our body. But the fact is, it will grow on us. You were growing even before you were born, and your first 20 years went in getting bigger, broader, fatter and smarter. Oh, it's all a part of growing up.
After you stop growing, you start ageing and that's even more of a pain. As time goes by, older buddies grumble more and more about their bodies. It's a sure sign that their bodies are beginning to wear out. The hardest aspect of getting older is accepting the bodily changes that Mother Nature shows us as we age.
So many new sunrises. So many sunsets. The numbers have changed. And we have seen so many years passing by. We have celebrated so many years and with every passing year, we make a resolution to be healthy and fit... Sometimes it happens and sometimes, the resolution becomes a vicious cycle in the subsequent year.
And certainly, Age does funny things to people. Simply put, hair grows where you don't want it to - hairy ears and hairy nostrils, and it stops growing where you want it. Add to that the dry and wrinkled skin, trembling hands, slow movements - you now have a piece of art when you see the mirror. Either you have aged, or you are ageing, or you will age.
Ageing is an ongoing process. There are no set rules that tell us that we will have trouble walking at this age or will lose our memory at that age. There are no promises as to what might pop up at 60 or whether we might age gracefully. All we can do is to eat well and exercise to our best ability so that we age gracefully.
