Lisa Robertson on pressing the reset button and hitting the ground running in the new SWPL campaign

ON January 17, 2020, Lisa Robertson signed for Celtic after spending two years at English Championship side Durham. Prior to her stint in England, the midfielder played in the States for Spokane Shine, having played for Hibs before that and having clinched the domestic treble with Glasgow City before that again.

Which is to say, Robertson knows the Scottish game well. After helping the Hoops topple her former club, Glasgow City, back in March, the global pandemic saw the SWPL shut down until earlier this month.

The course of the women’s season has since shifted to a winter format reflective of the men’s game, which Fran Alonso’s side kicked off with a 2-0 defeat to City on Sunday October 18.

The Celtic View caught up with Robertson to talk about that result, what lies ahead, and what the midfielder hopes from the forthcoming campaign.

We were obviously disappointed by the Glasgow City result, but we can’t beat ourselves up about it. We know we need to be better, and the good thing is, that was the first game of the season and there are still plenty more games to rectify it.
