AS far as an initial flurry of domestic fixtures goes, they don’t come much more difficult than the trio Neil Lennon has taken charge of since his return. Upon reflection, the Celtic manager is thoroughly satisfied with the start from the Bhoys, but knows the best is yet to come.
Any fears that the managerial changes at Celtic might disrupt the run of form the Hoops have been on since the turn of the year were quickly cast aside within the first few days of Neil Lennon taking charge.
A pair of wins at two of the most difficult away grounds yielded three points and a place in the Scottish Cup semi-final, all within four days of Neil Lennon’s appointment as manager. Things didn’t let up from there as Aberdeen came to Paradise and managed to hold the champions to a goal-less draw.
Looking ahead to Celtic’s next game, a trip to Dens Park to take on Dundee will hopefully see the Hoops take all three points and move a step closer to an eighth consecutive league title.
But the Celtic manager will take nothing for granted against the Dens Park side, even if they are just one point off the foot of the league table.
“Dundee are fighting for their lives and teams always raise their game when they play Celtic, so we’re under no illusions that it’s going to be a tough game,” said Neil Lennon in an exclusive interview with the Celtic View. “This team have done well at Dens Park in the past, but that doesn’t matter when we go there and they’re fighting to avoid relegation.
“On the outside, people might believe that should be a relatively easy three points but, as I say, they’re fighting for their lives and teams in that position are always dangerous to play.
“We’ll be fully prepared for the game and we’ll go to Dundee confident of getting the job done. First of all, we’ll get a couple of days’ rest and then get the boys ready to go again.”
