This year’s 28th Junior Invitational Golf Championship at the Singapore Island Country Club’s Bukit Course saw a total of 88 junior golfers with 45 representatives from Singapore alone.
After three rounds of competition under sunshine, cloudy and windy conditions, Sean Lee of Singapore and Lee Jihyun of South Korea emerged as the Overall Best Gross Boy and Girl respectively. Sean put in a score of 211 and Jihyun scored 214 for the tournament.
It was the first time playing out of her home country for 16-year old Jihyun, who commented that the Bukit Course was a good challenge but she found her way to the top of the table by maintaining focus on her game and remembering to have fun along the way.
