Not seeing enough gun
This is somewhat ironic considering the next fault to be discussed, but although they sound similar it is, in fact, a very different issue. If a gun fits correctly, you should, when looking down it, be able to see the rib stretching up and away in front of you like a gentle ski jump.
If you can only see the back of the action and the bead, the gun is too ‘flat’. Shooting a very flat gun will often cause the shooter to lift their head up off the stock to see the target, which invariably leads to a miss over the top.
