The football transfer market has been abuzz with some exciting but HIGHLY SPECULATIVE moves of late. Here’s a pick of the most interesting, but yet-to-be confirmed moves, involving some of the biggest names in the footballing world.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United to Los Angeles Galaxy)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic played a pivotal role in Manchester United’s campaign this season but was shockingly not offered a contract extension and was released by the club on June 9. The talismanic striker crafted 28 goals at United and scored the two important goals in the League Cup final against Southampton, to clinch his second trophy at the club. Ibrahimovic’s season came to a premature end as he suffered a serious knee injury in the Europa League quarterfinal against Anderlechtbut. He subsequently underwent surgery and is expected to return to the pitch only at the start of 2018.
Talks of a move to the muchfamed MLS franchise Los Angeles Galaxy, where David Beckham once played, have been doing the rounds for a while but it seems more concrete now, given Ibrahimovic becomes a free agent when his contract at Manchester United ends on June 30.
Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus to Chelsea)
