As Apple prepares to send macOS Ventura into public beta later this month, it's high time to take a closer look at some of the features coming to the operating system later this year. The update will introduce valuable productivity tools and makes our Macs even more powerful.
INTRODUCING MACOS 13: VENTURA
Every year at its Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple lifts the lid on the changes it has been working on for Mac. This year, it was a double-whammy, with the company making the unusual move of announcing hardware at the typically software-focused event, showcasing an all-new MacBook Air with an M2 chip, and an updated 13-inch MacBook Pro. In recent years, as Apple has transitioned away from Intel processors to custom chips, the firm has put an increased emphasis on macOS and is now answering everyday consumers' prayers with stunning new features that make the Mac better for everyday use. Whether you spend the day writing emails, working collaboratively, or editing video, this year's update is for you.
Perhaps one of the most exciting new features is Stage Manager, which automatically organizes apps and windows that are open so that users can better focus on their workflow and avoid unnecessary distractions. The feature, which has also been ported to iPadOS, will feature your current window in the center of the screen, and also show open windows on the left-hand side so that they can be easily found and switched to. It's also possible to group windows together when you're working on a specific project, and it works hand in hand with other macOS tools such as Mission Control and Spaces for better everyday usability. Roman Loyola has been using the tool since it went into a developer beta and said that it's "the new Mac multitasking interface we didn't know we needed, and it's "very helpful" for productivity.
