Driving a Lamborghini is a physical and philosophical event.

Lamborghini is a supercar, not just the ego upgrade version of a generic executive sedan. It makes a major impact as you walk towards it. Strangely, this diminishes as you walk towards it, not because the machine is any less striking, but because you realise, as you stand next to the vehicle, that the top of its roof is slightly below waist height. How can something so powerful be so compact?

There are other aspects to the car’s appearance that make up for that comparative slightness, not least the feeling of tightly wound brawn that comes with its sleek, wide chassis, huge wheels (tyres so low-profile they’re almost not there) and designer angles. Then there’s the colour of the test car, a Huracan LP610-4 Coupe – a lustrous, pearly yellow that might be summed up in a single word, fittingly, as ‘bullion’.
