When you move your party outdoors, the open space is your canvas to paint! Pick your favourite from these list of ideas to decorate and kickback under the sun (or stars). We tell you how to do it right.
1 reimagine your space
One of the easiest and best ways to do up your outdoor space—whether a balcony, garden or terrace—is to think of the area as a room without walls. Then recreate the look as an intimate gathering space that is ready for entertaining and hosting.
2 bring the inside out
There’s no reason why your indoor wonders cannot be brought outside! Repurpose a cot, add pillows and turn it into a settee. Or you could bring that trunk out and turn it into a coffee table.
3 have a repurposed bar
Get your chest of drawers out or get one from the junk furniture market. Give it a coat of paint and use it as a funky bar station. String a do-ityourself banner on top and place accessories like paper napkins, cutlery, bottle opener and straws, among other things, in the drawers.
4 opt for vibrant seating
For an informal, chilled out setting, opt for low or floor seating. Add a touch of fun with colourful cushions or contemporary prints such as ikat, stripes or florals.
5 step back in time
Most people are wary of resorting to brown craft paper but it actually creates an excellent rustic and vintage look when used as table mats or a table cover. Add lace doilies for coasters or a broad and long piece of beautiful lace for a runner and you have a lovelylooking table top. It ensures super easy, post-party clean-up too!
