Water is the oldest-known and simplest beauty tool since ages. It moisturises the skin and is known to maintain the pH balance of the skin. Our skin is made up of 64 per cent water; however, a lot of water is lost from the surface every day. It is important to replenish the lost water. Beauty regimes now lay emphasis on moisturising as an essential and integral element and mild cleansing procedures involve liberal splashing of H2O.
HYDRATION IS THE KEY
Water can be your beauty aid at all times so make sure it occupies a place on your dresser. Always use a water-based moisturiser such as rose water to tone and freshen up your skin. Honey rehydrates the skin; use honey water for dry skin. Apart from this, the best remedy for instant freshness is to splash cold water gently. Do this regularly during the day. To remove dirt from your skin and open up pores, steam your face routinely, then pat dry and moisturise to help lock in the water.
Moisturisation is the most vital skincare regimen, since more than colour or luster, your skin needs hydration. Dr Rinky Kapoor, Cosmetic Dermatologist and Dermato-Surgeon, The Esthetic Clinics, suggests, “Moisturisation is what forms a barrier between the outside elements and the skin. In your daily skincare routine, using the right moisturiser is most important. Your skincare routine will not benefit you unless your skin is protected by a good moisturiser.”
