WITH the end of the year upon us, you will find yourself chasing deadlines and targets before heading off on holiday. All this can lead to working long hours with minimal resting time and this can be strenuous on both your body and mind and can lead to fatigue.

WHAT IS FATIGUE?

“Physical fatigue is extreme exhaustion, usually caused by work stress. It can lead to you losing interest and demotivation at work,” says Hope Poopedi, a psychologist at Voortrekker Hospital in Mokopane, Limpopo. Hope says fatigue usually builds over a long period of time until you are drained and cannot take it anymore. This type of fatigue is usually accompanied by worry and when diagnostic tests are done, they come back normal.
