Gospel singer opens up about being left by his father and his love for spreading the gospel
GOSPEL singer Joseph Mnisi (47), who is famously known as Jay Jay, has sang his way into the hearts of many South Africans. Growing up in a family of seven, Joseph says they were deserted by their father. Jay Jay was raised by his single mother and he had to learn how to survive without a father figure. He says he learnt the important life lessons from his brothers.
PASSIONATE ABOUT SINGING
Jay Jay, a qualified teacher who is currently teaching at a secondary school in Middleburg, Mpumalanga, says that he did exceptionally well academically. He explains that while growing up, he believed that education was the answer to his problems.
“I was also passionate about singing and I joined a choir at the age of 13. I led a busy life as a youngster, so I never really had time to worry about my situation at home,” he says.
