'We painted our TIRED CABINETS'

Ellie and Mark made some savvy design decisions to create a fresh, new kitchen with a modern industrial vibe, on a tight budget

My husband Mark and I had been living with our son, Elliott, in a 1930s terraced house in Brockley,’ says Ellie.‘But, with our second child on the way, we knew we needed more space. We found this house, which had an extra bedroom. It needed plenty of TLC, but that didn’t put us off, as we’d renovated our previous property.

We had planned to carry out a large extension of this kitchen, but we just couldn’t afford it, so we sat down and thought about what changes we could make on a budget. Luckily, Mark is very handy and can tackle almost anything, so that helped us make up our minds.
