Nezha Alaoui, Founder and Creative Director of Mayshad Paris talks to Deepa Rajan on her brand and how she uses it to further the cause of women empowerment in an exclusive interview
She is an artist, successful photographer, designer, mother and humanitarian. Nezha Alaoui wears all these hats with great aplomb. As the Creative Director of her own brand Mayshad Paris, Nezha has successfully created a fashion brand that spells luxury but also sends a message of positive affirmation of empowerment to women around the world.
The name ‘Mayshad’ comes from the first syllables of both her daughter’s names, putting them not only in the centre of her life but in the centre of her life’s project.
As a woman from North Africa, who studied in France and lived in America, Nezha has developed a presence in four continents that gives her great opportunities to connect with like-minded people from across the globe.
Nezha has a strong message for women to ‘Be what you want to be’; a movement that inspires women to accept themselves as they are and embrace the different aspects of their lives with love and passion in order to achieve their goals and dreams.
Besides being a creative woman of substance, Nezha also reaches out to an international women’s community, as a motivator through her magazine www.mayshadwomanmag.com and social media @mayshadwoman. With an audience of more than half a million followers, she provides authentic and inspiring content for day-to-day life. On top of her magazine, Nezha has also founded and runs a women’s club, www.mayshadwomanclub.com, a business oriented networking platform to empower women and facilitate business development opportunities. The club brings together respected women leaders from different countries, communities and industries.
