Divorce doesn’t always have to spell the end, as Sue Walsh discovered...
The day I got married in 2009, I felt nothing but joy. Not a shred of doubt as I slipped on my ivory gown in the morning, nor a single butterfly as I walked down the aisle.
You see, while most couples wonder what life will be like once they sign on the dotted line, my husband Hugh and I knew exactly what we were getting into. We’d already been there 18 years before, standing at the altar and pledging our love for one another. Only that time ended a little differently...
Hugh and I were 15 when we first met. He was funny and sweet, and we quickly became best friends. Secretly, I think everyone suspected we’d end up as a couple. But as the years passed, we started dating other people, and in 1988, I fell pregnant. My partner and I moved to Windsor, and me and Hugh saw less of each other, especially after my son Liam was born.
