But, as rumours abound that her 12-year reign is drawing to a close, the race is now on to crown the next ITV golden girl, and Alison Hammond has made no secret of her desire for a big promotion.
As entertainment correspondent on This Morning, Alison, 46, won plaudits for her hilarious interviews with big Hollywood stars. Indeed, her chat with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford for the film Blade Runner in 2017 went viral. Alison confessed to the pair that she hadn’t seen the movie, provoking fits of hysterical laughter in Gosling and the notoriously tricky Ford.
