Flashing a stunning cushion-cut diamond engagement ring said to be worth $80,000 and smiling from ear to ear, newly engaged Samantha Armytage couldn’t hide her happiness as she revealed her partner Richard Lavender has proposed!
The 43-year-old Sunrise presenter excitedly took to Instagram last weekend to share a photo of her cosying up to Richard, 60, and showcasing her diamond ring, revealing she helped design it, after Richard chose the stone. “What a year,” she captioned the shot.
The morning after the announcement, Sam gushed on the breakfast show about her “romantic weekend” away to her country estate in the NSW Southern Highlands and said that Richard had popped the question while picking firewood and pulling weeds in their paddock, a few weeks ago.
Rather than ask “Will you marry me?”, the horse breeder said, “How about it?” Sam revealed. Local celebrities flocked to Sam’s Instagram to congratulate her, with many expressing their surprise.
“Well, this is hands down the best thing to happen this year,” Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew wrote. “Wow, that’s such wonderful news, congratulations,” co-host David Koch added.
