TOM'S LONELY LIFE

Burned too many times by publicity around his love life, the actor now keeps a low profile

Once upon a time, in the not-too-distant past, barely a day would go by when world-famous, eccentric actor Tom Cruise wasn’t in the headlines.

From his blockbuster movies through to his fascinating love-life, along with being the proud poster boy for controversial religion Scientology, the Top Gun icon was fodder for gossip blogs and talk shows around the globe.

But ever since Katie Holmes dramatically divorced him in 2012, severing ties immediately and taking their young daughter Suri, Tom has gone underground.

He’s offloaded homes in LA and more recently Colorado, maintaining a small apartment residence in Clearwater, Florida – the epicentre of his church – and is believed to be living almost full-time in London.

A friend paints a gloomy picture of the 58-year-old, saying, “Little by little, Tom has separated himself from friends and industry colleagues, and left Hollywood largely behind. He’s one of the biggest stars in the world – but he is also the loneliest.”
