You’ve got two days, some air miles and a pal having a party across the ditch – there’s really nothing for it but to take a flying visit to Victoria’s capital.

Of course a short trip to a big city can be overwhelming – what do you do and where/ how do you do it with what little time you have? But this particular city has a great resource in the snappily-named website whatson.melbourne. vic.gov.au. It’s easy to follow, wildly informative and has a great section called “walks and itineraries”. With what little time I had to spare, I downloaded the Melbourne Street Art Walk, which not only showed me the city’s hidden graffiti treasures, but took me past just about everything else I would want to do.
