Dolly Parton ‘SECRETS OF MY 56-YEAR MARRIAGE'

How the singer keeps her relationship with Carl spicy!

Dolly Parton's ready to pop the champagne. Not only is the music legend celebrating the release of her debut novel, Run, Rose, Run, co-written with bestselling author James Patterson, but her new album of the same name is out, she's a 2022 nominee for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and in May she and husband Carl Dean will toast to 56 years of marriage. And Dolly's happy to share one way she keeps the romance alive after more than five decades!

“I like to dress up for Carl, she says. “Every day, I put on some makeup and fix my hair because I think, 'Well, the whole world, I'm out here and everybody else sees me all dressed up, and I'm not going to just kind of go home and just flop on him. Nobody wants to make out with a slouch!

“It's important to me that I look as good as I can,” she adds. “I think it kind of helps keeping things spicy.

RELAXING AT HOME

When she's not on the road, Dolly says the couple like to spend time together in the kitchen of their Nashville home.

A lot of times he'll sit and watch me, or he'll talk, says the 76-year-old singer, of Carl, 79.
