When Prince Harry first fell in love with his glamorous girlfriend Meghan Markle, his closest advisors did their best to warn him off the affair. As a divorced American actress with a very high profile, she wasn’t what the royal family had in mind when it came to Harry’s future bride.

But the smitten prince was determined to continue with the romance, which until now has brought him nothing but joy. However, Woman’s Day can reveal the pair are facing their first major crisis, amid reports Meghan’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson has been offered more than $1 million to write a tell-all book about his short-lived marriage to the Suits star.

A close source tells us that with interest in Toronto-based Meghan at an all-time high, the price is finally right for film producer Trevor, 40, to dish the dirt on the girl he dated for six years before tying the knot in 2011 and then divorcing in 2013.

“Trevor has remained tight-lipped until now, despite numerous cash offers being on the table,” says our source. “But now he’s been swayed. He’s been quietly biding his time to get his revenge on what he insists were ‘years from hell’. ”
