When Katie Holmes was pictured walking hand-in-hand with boyfriend Jamie Foxx in Los Angeles last month, after years of speculation about their romance, it appeared the missing piece in her and daughter Suri Cruise’s happy ending had finally been found.

But behind the scenes, insiders say seeing her mum with a new man – and potential new father figure – has made Suri, 11, miss her own dad, Hollywood megastar Tom, who she hasn’t been publicly seen with for over four years.

In fact, Suri is so desperate to reconnect with him that insiders say she recently got in touch with him and begged to meet up. Now those close to Tom and Katie’s only child are hoping her plea will be enough to spark a reunion. “Her sentiments were short but full of emotion,” tells a source. “She asked if she’d done something to make him stay away, then begged him to come and visit.”
