Rod Stewart's glamorous wife has swapped the runway for the police beat in London

As one of the world’s most famous rock star wives, Penny Lancaster could be spending her days sipping champagne and shopping in designer stores. Instead, the 50-year-old former model wife of Rod Stewart is now patrolling the streets of London as a member of the police force!

“Becoming a police officer has made my year,” says Penny, who was inspired to pursue the unlikely new career after appearing on 2019 British reality show Famous And Fighting Crime.

“People don’t recognise me as Penny Lancaster when I’m on a shift, they just thank us for being out there, and that’s very rewarding. I always have excitement and butterflies for my days on duty – it’s my biggest thrill each week.”

While she once donned lingerie and expensive jewels for glamorous photoshoots, Penny now wears a stab-proof vest, baton and handcuffs while out on the beat.
